763 – Practice Nurse and administration – Richmond

Our Practice
We are a busy well-established Orthopaedic group that consults across multiple sites (inner eastern suburbs).  Free parking provided at some sites and easy public transport access at all sites. You will join our established practice as a Practice Nurse/Administration. Our amazing team will support you in this role as you work together to provide a seamless experience for the practice and patients.  Our ultimate priority is our patients (we cannot overstate this).

About the role
Join us in providing quality patient care through your advanced clinical nursing practice, along with your strong administrative experience. This is a unique role that will include pre and post patient care (even visiting patients whilst in hospital). You will be promoting and developing collaborative relationships amongst our health care team.

Duties – Nursing Role

  • Be the clinical point of contact between patients and the Surgeon.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical skills, knowledge and expertise (Orthopaedic experience well regarded)
  • Ensure Surgeon’s instructions and protocols regarding clinical care are meticulously documented and followed at all times
  • Gathering health histories, planning and co-ordinating patient care
  • Wound care as directed

Duties – Medical Administration

  • Using your experience to work alongside the Surgeon to provide Patients with all aspects of administrative tasks including Surgeon’s diary, consulting sessions, surgical bookings and billings
  • Reception relief
  • Regular liaison with the Practice’s Business Managers – RWS as required

Essential skills and experience

  • At least 3 years as a qualified Nurse (EN or RN, Orthopaedic experience highly regarded), current AHPRA registration required
  • Previous experience using Medical Practice Software (Genie viewed favourably)
  • Flexible in your approach to work, with exceptional customer service skills
  • A genuine team player (this is an integral part of our practice)
  • Well developed time management skills and ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Ability if needed to assist in consults at our other practice sites (inner east)
  • Own car and licence

760 – Senior Medical Receptionist/Assistant Practice Manager – Footscray

Our Practice is looking for a mature minded 2IC/Senior Medical Receptionist who loves their role.  You thrive on using your extensive Reception and Assistant Management skills to organise and be the gatekeeper for our Specialists.  Your sense of humour and quiet confidence and unflappable attitude will be an asset to our Practice. You will be true brand ambassador, happily liaising with our referral base and treating all at the Practice with respect and dignity.

Our selected candidate (commencement asap) will start at the reception area meeting and greeting patients and liaising with various other contacts. You will also assist with back office duties such as Theatre Bookings and Surgical Quotes and Billing.

You also pride yourself on your customer service, and organisation skills which only comes second to your attention to detail. You will also draw on your extensive people skills to assist patients in need.

Main duties include:

  • Having a good understanding and extensive experience in Theatre Bookings, Surgical Quoting including liaising with Hospital staff, end of day, week and month reporting and batching
  • Professional in your presentation, written and verbal communication
  • Having previous 2IC/Senior Medical Secretarial experience including managing consulting sessions, reception, debt collection, maintaining Medicare and DVA fees schedules and tracking income for our Specialists
  • Zedmed Medical Software (or similar) including experience with known Gaps, no Gaps and AMA fees
  • Experience with TAC and Workcover (viewed favourably)
  • Being experienced in working with various health funds and Medicare

This is a unique Practice and an amazing opportunity.  This Practice is a one stop shop for any joint/Orthopaedic issues with multiple services and options offered including Allied and Medics. We are a progressive team.

Our mission and reality are to provide patients with an extremely comfortable Practice environment (think of a cosy lounge room) where they feel safe, cared for and realise and know they are our Practice’s number one priority.

We are looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join the team, who understands that caring for the Practice’s patients is as important as their professional skillset, being our true “Director of First Impressions”. You will be working alongside our dynamic team to ensure the smooth functioning and daily operation of the Practice.

  • Desirable: Dip of Quality Management or similar, a tertiary qualification in admin and/or business management. Experience with ACHS and/or NSQHS accreditation. Recent extensive endoscopy or general surgical experience.
  • Experience attending and participating in monthly management meetings.
  • Capabilities: Demonstrated leadership and management abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prior experience in the delivery of process improvement projects.
